WiNSpace Nearly Finished!

Although we can’t quite say, until we have obtained the final bills, we strongly believe we have met our funding target of £2,000,000 (big smiley face).  This pays for the building and gets nearly everything off our ‘Wish List’.  To make this final step to this amazing milestone, a grant application for £14,992.57 from the UK Government through the Rural England Prosperity Fund was successful.  Getting fully funded has been achieved through the generosity of the Local Community and Businesses, Grant Providers and Parish Council and North Somerset Council– we have been so lucky.

We want to share the great news with you that we have been granted £300,000 from the Government as part of their Community Ownership Fund. It is over 43 years since the old Winscombe School was taken over by a newly founded Community Association and developed to become Winscombe Community Centre. This is a major local asset which continues to serve the community well, but there is always a need to look to the future so we are looking at options to move forward with the possible redevelopment of the community buildings. This project as been called WiNSPACE.
